EIGSI Engineering School La Rochelle is part of a few select French engineering schools receiving the highest rating for the Bienvenue En France Label for their outstanding International welcome and programme, and the European Commission Good Practice Award for the excellence and professionalism of their European exchange programme.
EIGSI Is Once Again Recognised For Their International Excellence
EIGSI was awarded three stars for the Bienvenue en France Label on 8 July 2019 from the Minister of Higher Education, Research and Innovation for the quality of support services provided to its international students.
In July, EIGSI was one of just 10 engineering schools out of 37 educational institutions having earned the label. On 16 October, EIGSI earned the distinction of being one of the very few schools to have obtained the highest 3 star rating, alongside Polytechnique, ISAE-SUPAERO, etc.
For Sylvain Orsat, Director General of EIGSI:“We are very proud to announce that we have received two new international awards for EIGSI, the result of 16 years of developing our international strategy. The European Commission’s Bonne Pratique label was awarded to 16 of the 780 schools receiving funding, and we are one of the first 10 engineering schools to receive the Bienvenue en France label out of the first 37 institutions that earned the award. This is the result of the excellent collaborative work carried out by the faculty and staff at the La Rochelle and Casablanca campuses to ensure the success of all our learners.”
Personalised Support Services For International students
The Bienvenue en France label was awarded to EIGSI on the basis of 20 indicators divided into 5 main themes: quality of support services, housing, quality of campus life, accessibility of information and quality of post-graduate follow-up.
EIGSI provides its international students with personalised services from day one to facilitate their arrival in France. Working closely with its partners (CROUS, bank, prefecture, insurance etc.), students are accompanied from the moment they land at the airport. In 2019, 25% of EIGSI’s students are international students with 20 different nationalities represented.
Erasmus +: EIGSI, a Model For Its European Mobility
To award the Good Practice label, the Erasmus+ Agency carried out a qualitative assessment of the EIGSI European mobility project based on criteria defined by the European Commission: relevance, general quality of implementation, impact and dissemination of project outcomes.
Thanks to its high quality implementation and outcomes, EIGSI La Rochelle has been selected as an example of good practice. Erasmus+ may call upon EIGSI to promote the outcomes of European projects.
The school offers its students 45 international double degree programs and has an active network of partnerships with more than 80 international schools in 30 countries.
International focus is part of EIGSI’s DNA
EIGSI is the first French Grande École engineering school with a campus overseas awarding a French engineering degree. EIGSI opened its campus in Casablanca, Morocco in 2006. Recognized by the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education and accredited by the CTI, EIGSI Casablanca has 350 students.
