Innovation is one of the five key values of EIGSI La Rochelle. It plays an important role in the teaching and the educational philosophy of the school. Our engineers are able to facilitate technological changes in a compagny yet respect its values and culture. Even before our students graduate, they must be able to understand the challenges of entrepreneurial culture to provide fast, concrete solutions for business and industry.
With this objective, EIGSI has intensified its training in entrepreneurship. In EIGSI-4, the students carry out an Innovation & Entrepreneurship Project that consists of inventing a new product and organising the entire process from A to Z, from the idea to the design phases to market launching.
To gain market share, manufacturers need engineers capable of inventing new products. When carrying out their Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects, EIGSI students experience exactly what they will have to do in the real world: design a new product within deadlines and a budget. For EIGSI, it is an innovative educational approach, because in addition to an excellent scientific background, our graduates will now also have experience as creators of new activities.
To complete their Innovation & Entrepreneurship Project, the students must analyse the market, come up with an innovative concept, develop the product, form a team, write a business plan and comply with regulatory requirements. All these tasks are perfectly in line with what a company expects from a young engineer.
The Innovation & Entrepreneurship projects are often proposed to EIGSI by companies seeking to develop new products and remain innovative.
